The Division Archives & Museum
The Archives exist to preserve the material history of whiskey culture — the artifacts, documents, images, and communiqués of the eras described in the institutional history — so that the community may study the Great Allocation Wars instead of merely refunding them.
Authenticity Classification
Every accession is labeled under the Division's two-tier authenticity system, displayed on every exhibit card, no exceptions:
⬤ Artifact (Authentic) — a real object or document from actual whiskey-culture history. The Archives does not alter authentic artifacts. Ever.
◯ Institutional Record (Reconstruction) — material produced by the Division itself, labeled as such because the Division lies about many things, but never about which things it is lying about.
Exhibit 001
⬤ Artifact (Authentic)
War on Flippers Service Medal — Original 2020 Pattern
Accession No. BB-ARC-2020-001
Struck by irregular bourbon forces during the height of the War on Flippers, six years before the activation of the 101st. Obverse: a flipper, prohibited. Ribbon: green and rust, charged with a golden buffalo, the meaning of which veterans require no explanation. Motto: EST CULPA NOSTRA — “It is our fault.”
Early examples display significant manufacturing and heraldic variation owing to wartime production constraints. This example is preserved unaltered. The Division's colors, creed, and institutional conscience descend from this object.

The Founding Enlistment — Service Record BB-0101
Accession No. BB-ARC-2026-002
====================================
Service Number: BB-0101
Name/Callsign: Col. Sam Green
Age Cert: of-age
Requested Unit: Needs of the Division
Theatre: American Whiskey
BLIND-TASTING CONFESSION:
No
Filed 2026-08-22 04:48:56 UTC. The record is complete.
The first enlistment ever processed by the Division: the founder, an actual commissioned Kentucky Colonel, submitting to standard intake and receiving the grade of D-1, New Make. Presented with the form's single mandatory act of candor — describe one time you were confidently wrong about whiskey — the Commander in Corn entered the word "No."
The review board ruled the response technically responsive, materially insubordinate, and admissible in its entirety. It is preserved here unaltered, per Archives regulation, as the founding document of Division personnel records and the shortest surviving act of defiance in whiskey-culture history. Enlistees who feel their own confessions were excessive are invited to consider what the alternative looks like on the wall of a museum.
CURATOR'S NOTE: The Curator of the Archives and the subject of this exhibit are the same individual. The Inspector General has been notified. The Inspector General has described the situation as "consistent."
Planned Galleries
Hall of the Allocation Wars — campaign artifacts, period screenshots (personal information redacted per Archives regulation; the redaction bars are both ethically required and aesthetically correct), price-tag archaeology, the Receipt Wall.
The Long Peace Gallery (Dusty Wing) — recovered pre-1985 stock, tax-stamp reference collection, ceramic wildlife.
The Meme Repository — the community's graphic history, accessioned with dates and context, because in fifty years nobody will believe any of this happened.
The Oral History Program — recorded and written war stories submitted by veterans of the Allocation Wars and adjacent campaigns. Collection begins soon; veterans are advised to start remembering now.
Rotating Exhibits — first planned installation: “$22: The Weller Crisis in Receipts.”
Curation Policy
The Archives preserves history; it does not falsify it. Real events are described accurately. Real artifacts are never altered, and reconstructions are never passed off as originals. Satire lives in the framing — the accession numbers, the exhibit cards, the institutional gravity — never in the facts. The Historian's Office regards this as the Division's most important regulation, because a parody of misinformation that spreads misinformation has failed at both jobs.
